Political analysts weigh in on use of 25th Amendment or impeachment against President Trump

Both Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer called for President Donald Trump to resign or be pushed out following the violent protests at the Capitol.

There is a growing bi-partisan call for Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment or for Congress to impeach President Trump again.
Both Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer called for President Donald Trump to resign or be pushed out following the violent protests at the Capitol. In fact, articles of impeachment have already been drawn up.
Lawmakers say the president's encouragement of the riot and invasion of the Capitol is a clear example that he's a danger to the country.
Political analyst John Murtagh weighed in on the matter.
"That cannot go unpunished. When I talk about the coarsening of our politics," says Murtagh. "This is so extreme and so beyond the pale it has to be dealt with affirmatively either by the 25th or by impeachment."
Shannon Powell, of Indivisible, says, "I think it's critical to try and use whatever levers we can whether it's the 25th Amendment or impeachment to get rid of him and have him step down. I think that's what's in the best interest of the country. I think that's what leaders should be demanding."
