A 25-year-old Yonkers man accused of fleeing police after allegedly stealing a car is facing multiple charges.

Westchester police say they received reports of a Ford F-350 traveling on the Hutch at around 6:15 p.m. Thursday. Police tried to initiate a traffic stop but the driver sped away.

Police say the truck later crashed into cables that were supporting a utility pole on Purchase Street. After the crash, the driver attempted to run off.

K9 units picked up the man’s scent on bushes in a backyard. He was arrested and remains in police custody.
