Police: Woman injured after veering off road, striking trees in Saugerties

The driver was rushed to Albany Medical Center, where she remains in critical but stable condition.

A woman was injured in a motor vehicle crash in Saugerties Monday. 
The crash happened just after 4:30 p.m.
Police say a 75-year-old woman was driving a 2002 Mazda when the car veered off the road, striking several trees.
The woman was identified as Patricia Laverty, from Palenville.
Laverty was the only occupant in the car. She was critically injured and had to be extracted from the car by fire crews.
She was rushed to Albany Medical Center, where she remains in critical but stable condition.
