A Tuckahoe man has been charged in a burglary that occurred Tuesday morning at Yorktown Jewelers on Kear Street.
Police say they found a broken window, several display cases smashed and numerous pieces of jewelry stolen when they arrived at the scene.
The stolen jewelry had an estimated value of $50,000, according to authorities. There was also over $1,500 in damage done to the store during the incident.
Police say they recovered many of the stolen jewelry pieces Wednesday at a Mount Vernon pawn shop.
Ryan McCullough, 28, was arrested a short time later without incident in Mount Vernon, according to authorities.
McCullough is facing charges including grand larceny and burglary.
He has been arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
Police say video assistance by the business community helped them make a quick arrest.
