Police say a threat of violence was discovered inside an Ulster County middle school on Wednesday.
Rondout Valley Middle School officials sent out a message to parents saying that a school monitor has discovered a threat written on a bathroom wall.
All students were evacuated to the high school campus and police were called.
Middle school faculty and staff stayed with the students and were there to support any child who may be concerned about the situation.
School officials sent a letter to parents that read in part: "Safety of our students and staff is of paramount importance, so we are taking this threat very seriously and treating it as credible until law enforcement, who was contacted immediately, advises differently."
