Police: Suspect arrested in Newburgh bus assault

State police say they have arrested 37-year-old Maleek Phillips from Albany after an assault on a bus on I-87 in Newburgh.

State police say they have arrested a 37-year-old man from Albany after an assault on a bus on I-87 in Newburgh.
Maleek Phillips faces several charges, including attempted murder and endangering the welfare of a child.
The bus was traveling from Albany to New York City.
State police say it started as a fight between two men with about 30 passengers on board.
The bus pulled over just past the Meadow Hill Road overpass in Newburgh.
Both men were hurt, including Phillips, who is now in Orange County Jail.
