State police are being credited with saving a man's life after they were able to stop him from jumping off the Tappan Zee Bridge this morning.
Police say the man drove onto the bridge and climbed over the guardrail just after 5 a.m. today. Troopers were able to talk him and stop him from jumping. When the man's father arrived, police were able to convince him to come back over the guardrail to safety.

The man is now being evaluated at the Westchester Medical Center.
The right lane on the southbound side of the span was shut down for about 20 minutes, but reopened in time for the morning rush hour.
