Dozens of people are under arrest after a major early morning police sweep for drugs in New Rochelle.
Operation City Sweeper 2 was a seven-month operation initiated by New Rochelle Police Department's special investigation unit and assisted by other law enforcement agencies.
In New Rochelle, 50 arrests have been made so far. Another 38 arrests were made last week in White Plains. Police say they are still searching for 14 suspects. In addition to the arrests, drugs were seized and five guns were confiscated. Police say most of the heroin is coming into Westchester from the Bronx.
Authorities say all those arrested today and last week are street-level drug dealers and not major players.
They also say they seized drugs other than heroin and are working to tally the street value.
