A massive police force scoured Garrison Thursday in search of new evidence in the unsolved murder of a local garage owner.
John Marcinak, a tow truck operator and businessman, was fatally shot outside his home on New Year's Eve. Several rewards have been offered for information leading to the arrest of Marinack's killer, but to no avail.
On Thursday, nearly three dozen officials and 20 police dogs combed through patches of thick brush and muddy water along Route 9 in Garrison in search of clues in the case.
"No stone is being left unturned," says Capt. William McNamara, of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. "Every lead is being examined, every clue investigated."
Officials say they are pursuing a number of leads. So far, no motive or suspect has been identified.
"The sheriff's office is not going to rest, and nor do I expect the community will, until this murder is solved," McNamara says.
