An Orange County man is facing felony charges after allegedly stabbing a woman at an apartment in New Windsor Sunday night.
Authorities say 51-year-old Gerald Jackson stabbed a 32-year-old woman in the stomach during a domestic violence incident on Copper Court.
Officials say Jackson was also found with a puncture wound in his shoulder and that they’re investigating how he was injured.
Neighbors say they’re saddened to hear about the violence.
“Nothing is safe around here anymore. It’s all over the world right now. The world is crazy," said Reuben Rodriguez.
Authorities say the victim was treated and released from the hospital and is expected to be OK.
Jackson is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was released without bail at his arraignment Monday morning, and the victim was issued a restraining order.
Jackson is due to appear in New Windsor Town Court Dec. 13.
