Reports of shots fired Wednesday in a Highlands neighborhood were deemed unfounded.
State police say an officer was interviewing people on Bridge Terrace about an attempted robbery when he thought he heard gunshots behind a house. He called for backup and reported hearing an additional shot fired.
Additional police and a K-9 team responded to the area, and neighbors were interviewed.
A person was taken into custody on an unrelated drug charge during the search and canvassing of the area on the initial report of shots fired.
The person in custody is not connected to the reports of shots fired. No weapon was found on the person.
