Ramapo police investigate reports of people sprayed, hit with objects in Monsey

A 49-year-old man from Queens was arrested Saturday morning in connection to a cooking oil theft in Monsey.

Ramapo police say they followed a vehicle to a business, where they saw the suspect begin emptying an oil container.

The suspect was arrested and released pending a future court appearance.

Authorities say several restaurants and businesses in Ramapo have recently reported thefts of used cooking oil.
