Police are offering a reward to help find the person responsible for a triple shooting on Randall's Island early Monday morning.
Officials say they were called to Randall's Island after reports of gunfire.
Investigators said a group of about 50 people were celebrating Venezuela's recent election in Field 71 when a man fired into the crowd, hitting three people. The shooter then fled on a moped.
Officials say 44-year-old Sandra Serrano was shot in the face and back. She was transported to Harlem Hospital but did not survive her injuries. The other two victims, a 32-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.
According to investigators, the motive for the shooting may have been retaliation for a gunpoint robbery that happened earlier that day.
Police are now offering a reward of up to $3,500 for any information who can help solve the case. They have also released a photo of Serrano.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
