Police in Yorktown say an attempted abduction on Line Avenue that was reported by a 12-year-old boy Wednesday was just a matter of miscommunication.
According to authorities, a student from Lakeland Copper Beach Middle School was approached by two men at a school bus stop and thought the men were trying to get him into their truck.
Police later talked to one of the men and confirmed that the incident was not an attempted kidnapping. Still, some local parents remain alarmed.
"I'm concerned about the neighborhood, our children in the neighborhood, their safety and well-being," says Leonard Adams, of Shrub Oak.
