Police: New Rochelle man arrested after violent altercation with relative

A man is accused shooting a family member following an altercation in New Rochelle Wednesday morning.
New Rochelle police say Daniel Houghton allegedly shot his stepfather in the forearm before fleeing.
The incident happened on the second floor of 92 Horton Ave.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Houghton was arrested nearly three hours later in Mount Vernon.
“I'm amazed. I'm at a loss because I just came from work and had to...police wouldn't let me in and I had to and go around the block and stuff like that,” says one neighbor. “So I didn't really know what was happening, and it's shocking to see so close.”
The suspect will be arraigned in New Rochelle City Court.
