A 20-year-old man from New Haven is facing multiple charges after he stole a car and fled from police officers in Rye.
Police say they were alerted on Thursday that a stolen Volkswagen Jetta from Connecticut was being driven in the City of Rye.
When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver fled at a high rate of speed.
Police say Shyheim Mcquillar was arrested following a brief foot pursuit. He is scheduled to appear in court next week.
