Police nab suspect for two attempted bank heists

Police have made an arrest in the attempted robberies of two banks on South Broadway in Yonkers Friday. According to police, a lone would-be robber entered the Hudson Valley National Bank around 11 a.m. Police say the suspect then tried to hit a Chase Bank down the block. The suspect was unsuccessful in both attempts, police say. The banks closed while detectives searched for clues. Following a description, the police were able to arrest a suspect.
Police say the suspect never displayed a weapon and no one was hurt in either incident. Both banks eventually reopened.
