Mount Vernon officials: DPW worker shot on the job Friday

Police say 25-year-old Daquan Moore was with other DPW employees collecting garbage when an unknown person began shooting at them.

Mount Vernon officials confirm a Department of Public Works employee was shot twice while on the job Friday morning.

The shooting happened around 8:25 a.m. near 50 North Terrace Ave.

Police say 25-year-old Daquan Moore was with other DPW employees collecting garbage when an unknown person began shooting at them. 

Moore was shot in both legs. 

Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot.
