A Sullivan County man who had been missing for over a week was found dead in a Forestburgh marsh Friday afternoon.
Harold Hoyt, 35, was reported missing by a friend on March 31 after the car they were in ran out of gas on a trail off Galigan Road. That friend managed to make it to a nearby road, but said Hoyt apparently got lost in the woods.
Law enforcement attempted to locate Hoyt with the help of numerous search and rescue teams including ATVs, drones, UTVs, K-9 teams and more.
Hoyt’s body was later discovered in the marsh. Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
