A manhunt is underway as police in Spring Valley continue their search for two suspects believed to be involved in a shooting Thursday afternoon.
According to investigators, a 30-year-old man was shot in the stomach around 2 p.m. at 1 Municipal Plaza, near the town's train station. The victim, whose name has not been released, was rushed to Westchester Medical Center.
Police have not disclosed his condition. A friend of the victim told News 12, "he's going to be alright."
Police shut down the transportation center for several hours as they flooded the area looking for the suspects. Trains today are back to running on schedule.
People who spoke with News 12 were shaken by the incident.
"It was crazy I came out here and heard shots I didn't know what was going on," says Angel Foreign, of Spring Valley.
"It's very unfortunate. It’s unsettling for anyone who walks these parts every day, myself, friends and other people," says Jimmy Bonura, of Spring Valley.
Police say no arrests have been made. They add that the shooting was believed to be an isolated incident, and that it is safe to be in the area Thursday night.
Police haven’t confirmed a motive for the shooting.
