Police: Man killed, another injured while crossing busy street in Rockland County

Police say two men were struck crossing a busy street in Rockland County, and one of them has died.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. Thursday on West Maple Avenue and Kingspoint Lane in Monsey.
Ramapo police say the adult men were crossing West Maple Avenue when they were struck by one - or possibly two -SUVs.
Ramapo police say one of the men, who was approximately 70 years old, was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the other victim, who is in his early 50s, was taken to Westchester Medical Center with a severe leg injury and is expected to survive.
Ramapo police say the drivers remained on the scene and are cooperating with the investigation.
Police say no charges have been filed, as this appears to be an accident.
