A man was seriously injured after jumping in front of a Metro-North train in New Rochelle Monday night.
Police say the man jumped in front of a Manhattan-bound train as it arrived at the New Rochelle station shortly before 9 p.m. An eyewitness notified authorities and emergency crews removed the man from beneath the train.
The accident caused delays on Metro-North's New Haven line. Service has since resumed on or close to schedule.
The man was taken to Montefiore Medical Center, where he is in serious condition in the hospital's trauma center. His identity has not been released.
