A New York City man was charged for burglarizing synagogues in Monsey on several occasions.

Joel Jungries, 42, stole from three synagogues on Jan. 6, according to the Ramapo Police Department's Investigations Division.

The synagogues along Monsey Boulevard and Suzanne Drive were targeted, police said.

Jungries allegedly went back to the synagogues on January 20 to steal more items.

He was later arrested on Tuesday.

The suspect was charged with five counts of burglary, grand larceny, petit larceny and two counts of possession of burglar tools.

He was charged and released until his next court date.
