Police say they found a homeless man's body at the Grassland Reservation in Greenburgh Friday morning.
They say they believe the body is that of a 35-year-old who was staying at the Volunteers of America homeless shelter on the property.
Shelter officials say the man started behaving erratically around 4 a.m. and ran from the facility wearing just pajama bottoms, a T-shirt and no shoes.
Police searched the area for hours, and at around 10:30 a.m., a 4-year-old police bloodhound named Madison found the body in the woods off of Taylor Road.
Madison picked up the scent from a pillowcase and followed it into the woods facing 10-degree weather. Authorities say the man most likely froze to death.
While police are waiting for a medical examiner's report, they say there was no obvious sign of foul play.
