Police in Westchester arrested a man Monday they say fled the scene of an accident on the Playland Parkway.
According to police, the suspect crashed into an abutment along Playland Parkway near I-95 and then fled on foot along the Metro-North tracks of the New Haven line. At about 2:30 p.m., police say two Rye officers who were driving next to the train tracks spotted the man about 50 yards from the border between Rye and Harrison.
While Rye police officers made the arrest, the case is being handled by the New York State Police because Playland Parkway is a state road.
