The town of Eastchester took disciplinary action against its police chief after an investigation into whether his son stole his gun.
Supervisor Anthony Colavita would not reveal the punishment for Timothy Bonci, saying by law that he can't. Colavita told News 12 it was harsh, but that Bonci accepted it.
The police chief's son pleaded not guilty to weapons possession after the incident last July.
Bonci's attorney says while he does not agree with the recommendation, this should in no way tarnish the chief's 30-year career.
