Witnesses say a police chase led to a three-car accident at the intersection of South 5th Avenue and 7th Street in Mount Vernon Monday morning.

Residents on 5th Avenue say police were apparently pursuing a stolen Cadillac, which crashed into two other cars at the intersection.

"I heard the sirens making a lot of noise and I came down and took a look," resident Bishop Caines says. "Then I saw police arresting some guys."

One of the cars involved had blood on the airbag, showing the severity of the impact that resulted in at least one injury. Details are still coming in and the injuries and identities of the people involved are not yet known.
