State police in Monroe arrested a man who they say fled the scene after hitting a child last year.
Officials say 24-year-old Yudah Zimmerman hit a child on Siege Court in Kiryas Joel.
The eight-year-old boy was found lying on the road. Police say Zimmerman left the scene.
Zimmerman was taken to Orange County Jail. His bail was set at $25,000.
