Two people were arrested Wednesday while protesting against the Algonquin pipeline project in Verplanck.
The arrests come on the heels of 11 Algonquin pipeline protesters facing a judge in Cortlandt last week.
Cellphone video captured the moments when the protesters were handcuffed and escorted into a state police cruiser in Verplanck. They were part of a group of 30 trying to block access to Spectra Energy's construction site.
The protests were followed by a similar demonstration just down the road.
Spectra continues to maintain that the pipeline project is safe and that the protests are removing critical public safety first responders away from their duties.
It is not known if the two protesters who were arrested are facing any charges.
