2h agoAn 85-year-old woman from the Bronx was scammed into giving a stranger thousands of dollars.
Police say that the woman received a call from someone on Feb. 13 who deceived her into paying $70,000. She met with the suspect who ran off a soon as they received the money.
Authorities encourage anyone with information to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
