Police: 72-year-old arrested in Ulster County hit-and-run

The Ulster County Sheriff's Office says John Mansfield struck a 20-year-old male pedestrian on State Route 209.

A 72-year-old man is facing charges for leaving the scene of a crash that left one person seriously injured last month.

The Ulster County Sheriff's Office says John Mansfield struck a 20-year-old male pedestrian on State Route 209.

The victim was hospitalized and is expected to recover.

Detectives tracked down Mansfield’s vehicle a short time after the crash.

He was released and will return to court at a later date.
