Four people have been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a 4-year-old-boy and leaving him in dire medical condition.
The suspects include the boy's mother, Tanya Rae Kling, and her twin sister, Tonya Lee Krout. Tanya Rae Kling denied hurting her son when she appeared in Newburgh court on Monday. Authorities arrested Kling on Thursday, alleging she knew that her son had been molested and needed medical care. They say she allegedly tried to hide him from police, who were inquiring about his welfare.
Authorities allege Krout sodomized the boy last week while they stayed at a hotel in Newburgh. Officials say that Dennis and Deboara Terwilliger, who are also accused of abusing the boy, knew that the 4-year-old was being abused and also did nothing to stop it.
Police say the boy's father, who is in South Carolina and reported the alleged abuse, may also be a suspect.
The boy is in currently in protective custody. The four suspects remain in Orange County Jail.
