Four people are dead, including three children in Danbury, according to officials.
They were found on a Whaley Street property Wednesday evening. The children were found inside a house and a female was found in a nearby shed on the property in the backyard.
The children range in age from 5-12 years old. The female’s age has not been released.
Police conducted a welfare check at 10 Whaley Road around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after they received a call from a person distraught and crying. Upon arrival, police say they found three juveniles dead inside the home.
Police then located a female also dead inside a shed in the backyard.
At this time, police are not releasing the cause of death, but say they believe the victims are related.
“Well overnight obviously, our evidence teams are here, they're processing the scene. State’s Attorney has been notified their inspector and State’s Attorney have been here as well. And they'll be talking to any neighbors and any possible witnesses and getting some background on the victims and talking to family members,” said Chief Patrick Riddenhour. “It's a really extremely difficult time for many of the officers, especially those who had to go inside. We are ensuring their mental health and well-being is being taken care of at this time, as well.”
Police say no one is in custody at this time and believe this is an isolated incident. More information is expected to be released Thursday morning.
