Police say three teens put a rope around a New Rochelle cabbie's neck while he was driving and tried to rob him.
Authorities say the teens got into the cab in Pelham and directed the driver to a dead end near Nature Study Woods in New Rochelle.
They say the teenagers then threw a rope around the driver and tried to rob him. They did not get any money, and police say the suspects ran away.
The driver, who told News 12 his name is Dave, says he broke the rope and resisted. He says he then called dispatch, who then called New Rochelle police.
Dave has been a driver with Peltown Taxi for five years. He says he suffered some burns on his hands from the ropes, but is otherwise fine.
Police found two of the suspects, both 15 years old, in the woods. One suspect, who is said to also be 15, is still at large.
