Two people were injured in a shooting Tuesday in Yonkers, police say.
They say it started in the afternoon with a verbal dispute on Walnut Street near the corner of Elm Street.
Police believe the suspect or suspects and victims were known to each other.
There is no one in custody at this time.
Police say one person was in critical condition but has since stabilized. The other is also in stable condition.
Neighbors are shocked to hear about the gun violence in broad daylight.
"I'm surprised because it's not usually happening this time of day," says King Applewhite, who lives nearby.
The ages and identities of those involved have not yet been released.
There is no word on what sparked the dispute.
