Two men are in police custody after a multistate car chase Wednesday night ended in Hastings.
County police say the chase started in Connecticut in a stolen car.
That car was spotted on Interstate 287. Police then followed it onto the Saw Mill Parkway. They lost sight of it at one point, but it was found again on Cliff Street in Hastings.
Hastings police spotted two men running on an overlook.
Officers eventually found them in a shed at a home on Overlook Street.
"Looked out my window. I saw two guys, young guys, in my yard looking around, looking like they didn't belong there. Peeked out the door, said, ‘Can I help you?’ They looked around, scared, started walking up the road. I said, ‘Can I help you?’ And they said, ‘No, we're lost.’ They ran up here and ran into this backyard right here," says Tom Romita.
County police eventually found them and and took them into custody.
