Police: 2 killed after car veers off road, crashes into White Plains apartment building

Police believe the driver of the car veered off the road and hit an apartment building. The crash caused a small fire and explosion, according to police.

Two people were killed Monday morning in a crash in White Plains.
It happened around 9 a.m. in the 200 block of Battle Avenue.
Police believe the driver of the car veered off the road and hit an apartment building. The crash caused a small fire and explosion, according to police.
The two people inside the car died. Police say the victims were two women from Hartsdale who are related to each other.
Two people inside the apartment had minor injures, according to police. Officers also tell News 12 a nearby runner was hit with shrapnel. They were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
Officials say the vehicle involved is an electric Tesla.
