Police: 18-year-old former Peekskill HS star athlete fatally stabbed

Police say group of people got into a fight after gathering in the parking lot at China Pier on Louisa Street around 9:30 p.m.

An 18-year-old star soccer player was stabbed to death Saturday night in Peekskill.
Police say Joaquin Salazar died after being stabbed during a fight after gathering in the parking lot at China Pier on Louisa Street around 9:30 p.m.
The former varsity soccer player graduated from Peekskill High School just last year.
Police say a second stabbing victim is still hospitalized in serious condition in the crime, which has left the community in shock.
Police are investigating the stabbings and say a third male who was also injured in the parking lot fight was later taken into custody.
Investigators won't say whether he has or will be charged.
