Village of Mamaroneck police say the one person who was injured refused medical attention.
Police say a box truck was traveling west in the right lane when the driver thought they saw an animal darting out between some parked cars.
The driver swerved into the left lane, saw a vehicle, and then swerved back into the right lane, where they struck two parked cars.
Police say the driver slammed on the brakes to slow down and a loose item in the truck slid under the brake pedal, causing the brakes not to work.
Officials also say the truck then pulled onto the curb and struck three other vehicles in the Toyota City inventory parking lot.
Toyota City told News 12 that the two cars parked on the side of the road belong to some of their employees.
