Police say a tree fell onto a pickup truck as it was driving northbound near Exit 16 in Stony Point around 4 p.m. Sunday, and killed one person and injured two others.

The tree sliced right through the truck with three people inside.

Police say the front seat passenger was killed and pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver was rushed by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center, and the rear passenger was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The northbound Palisades Parkway was shut down for several hours into the evening.
