A Ramapo podiatrist accused of plotting to kill his estranged wife with the help of his girlfriend was released on bond Friday.
Ira Bernstein walked out of Rockland County Jail late Friday afternoon after his parents helped him post the $600,000 bond. He had been there since earlier this week after being arrested and charged with trying to have his estranged wife, Susan.
Also on Friday, Bernstein and his girlfriend and co-defendant, Kelly Gribeluk, were indicted by a Rockland grand jury on charges of solicitation and conspiracy.
It was revealed in court that the alleged plot was to have Susan hit by a car, and then make it look like an accident.
Bernstein and Gribeluk were supposed to be back in Airmont Justice Court next week, but their next court appearance now will be when they arraigned on their indictments in county court. No date for that has been set.
