A new Christmas tree is going up in Pleasantville.
Village workers planted the new tree on what is commonly referred to as Christmas Tree Island.
The old tree was taken down over the summer.
One resident told News 12 it was time for a change.
"We've lived down the street for over 30 years.  The old one was kind of tilting, but, you know, we like having it right there, decorated at Christmastime.  So, we're happy," said Kathy Elliott, of Pleasantville.
An event celebrating the new tree - with lights and all - will be held closer to the holidays.
