Plea deal reached in Port Jervis Building Inspector sex abuse case

Prosecutors say Dave Rivera pleaded guilty Wednesday to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct, after consulting with three women who accused him of sexual harassment while on duty.

A plea deal has been reached in the sexual abuse case against a Port Jervis building inspector.
Prosecutors say Dave Rivera pleaded guilty Wednesday to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct, after consulting with three women who accused him of sexual harassment while on duty.
Orders of protection were issued on behalf of the women, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
News 12 has reached out to prosecutors for additional information about what sentence Rivera could be facing.
We also reached out to the City of Port Jervis for comment.
Rivera had remained on the job since he was accused in 2019 and charged with sexual abuse.
