The gates at Playland Park are opening again for a new season in Rye.

Westchester County officials say this marks the park’s 98th season, with a preseason opening this weekend ahead of a full grand opening next week.

Leaders are calling it a reset year after a challenging 2025 season that saw limited operations following the end of a private management deal.

Now back under county control, officials say more than $150 million has been invested in capital projects to restore rides and upgrade the park’s historic Art Deco features.

Several attractions are returning, including the iconic Dragon Coaster.

Fireworks Fridays are also set to return starting in July.

The park will be open this weekend from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday as part of the preseason schedule.
