A federal plan to consolidate seven post offices in the Bronx is getting a thumbs-down from elected officials and local residents.
"We are the fastest-growing borough in the City of New York, and there is a great need for postal services here," says Deputy Borough President Aurelia Greene.
The U.S. Postal Service, which says its revenue is down sharply, is expected to make a final decision on the consolidation plan Oct. 2.
