A Pine Bush man has been sentenced to one to three years in prison in connection with an incident outside a Walden gas station, according to Orange County prosecutors.

The district attorney says Anthony Vanriper was arrested two years ago after threatening people outside the gas station.

Walden police say Vanriper refused to be handcuffed during his arrest.

Officers say that once he was placed in a holding cell, the 43‑year‑old kicked a toilet, causing nearly $900 in damage.

Prosecutors say Vanriper was later convicted on multiple charges.
