Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced that a two-week visitation pilot program will allow visitors back into certain facilities, including Westchester Medical Center.
Visitors will be provided with PPE, and be subject to symptom and temperature checks.
The visits will also be time-limited. “This is about getting visitors back into hospitals with the right precautions, with the right equipment," says Cuomo.
Officials at Westchester Medical Center tell News 12 they're still in the process of figuring out exactly how these visits will work.
These steps come as there is progress in the push to reopen the Mid-Hudson region. The area now meets five of the seven metrics and is inching closer on the remaining two to start Phase 1 of reopening.
