A person was struck and killed by a train in Hartsdale Sunday morning.

Metro-North says there was an unauthorized person on the tracks as a northbound train approached shortly before 10 a.m.

The fatality caused delays on the Harlem Line, but service has since resumed.

Some passengers say they well aware of the incident and had seen tweets about the train delays in the morning. Others say they were shocked to find out that a person had been hit.

Police and fire department personnel remained at the scene until a medical examiner concluded the initial examination.
