Hundreds of people celebrated Labor Day at Glen Island Park on Monday.

News 12 noticed the park was packed with people. The parking lot was full and kids were seen enjoying the playground.

Women were spotted sunbathing along the shore. One man was seen fishing.

Some folks were spotted taking their boats out on the water.

News 12 crews asked some members of the crowd why they wanted to send their summer off at the park.

"My 13-year-old and I we're home and we thought 'Let's take the dog to the park' and we looked up the parks in New Rochelle and decided to come to Glen Island," patron Abbe Udochi said.
