People living across the Hudson Valley are bracing for the heavy rain coming this way.
When it rains, it pours.
That's especially the case for people living in an apartment building in the 2200 block of Palmer Avenue in New Rochelle.
"It is hard to live like this," says one resident.
People living there say whenever it rains heavily, the parking lot is completely flooded.
Through the years, some apartment units have been seriously damaged from the water. In fact, many residents were displaced for months last fall when their homes were damaged by floodwaters.
On Thursday, residents were placing sandbags outside their doors and also, getting a water pump ready to go.
They believe the culprit of the flooding is a culvert along the Metro-North train track that runs behind the apartment building.
News 12 reached out to Metro-North about the culvert and we have yet to hear back.
Meanwhile, about 15 miles north near White Plains, Dave Surace and his family have been stuck with serious flooding whenever it rains hard.
"Anything that is over a quarter of an inch within an hour, is a possible flood for me," says Dave Surace.
Surace lives near a smaller creek but when it rains, he says water comes from every direction. It has left his home damaged in the past. He says he has tried every method he can think of to combat the flooding. He has also purchased several water pumps.
Surace tells News 12 he has reached out to town leadership for help but says nothing has been done to improve the situation.
"We're up all night watching the storm, my wife and I don't go to sleep when it rains," says Surace.
